  • 7:27 PM MDM - I also need to build four doors that will allow for total access to the 16 feet of narrow shed. They each open a 2 ft portion of the center.
  • 7:26 PM MDM - I moved on to the front of the shed that I am going to cover with cedar since it is low maintenance. The side and back, since they won’t be visible, are covered with a 4 x 8 ft. sheet of ply wood material that is covered with a finish that require no paint or stain.
  • 7:22 PM MDM - Step 5: Finishing
So, I have finished the framing and I have the flat roof in and covered with roll roofing since it is almost flat.

  • 9:01 AM MDM - You may have notice that there are no rocks or screening at the base of my form. Well, I looked up a bunch of material and there was not definitive answer. So, I decide just to pour more concrete with and average depth of 8 inches. I did something similar 4 yrs ago with my neighbor and it work out great. No cracks.
  • 8:48 AM MDM - Ok. So all the rebar and wire mess is in and we are ready for the pour at 11am. Notice that my fence sections can be removed. People laughed at me when I decided to “hang” my fence on hooks. Who’s laughing now!

  • 6:38 AM MDM - The form is in just needs to be set and ready for the pour this morning. as you can see the wheel barrels are ready to go. However one is flat. I need to get some kind of flat fix.

  • 9:15 PM Jonathan Keebler - That’s a mighty hole. Congratulations on the newest addition to your family :)
  • 8:54 PM MDM - I leveled and squared the form in place and tomorrow I will add the rebar to reinforce the slab. Done for the day.
  • 8:50 PM MDM - Now I used a concrete calculator to estimate the amount I would need. I got an estimate of 1.13 M for a 16ft x 4ft x 6in. slab. Depending on which one you use you will also get a bag estimate. I got between 50 -70 bags. I don’t know about you but I am not mixing that on my own. I opted for Redi-Mix deliveru and itcomes on Saturday morning at 11AM. Sweet! www.concretenetwork.com

  • 8:45 PM MDM - Step 2: Build a form to hold in the concrete.
Concrete love to spill out every. Make sure you build a good form to keep it in its place.
  • 8:42 PM MDM - It always amazes me how much earth comes out of ground that has been packed for 80 + years.

  • 8:34 PM MDM - Step 1: Did a hole.
I have chosen to put in a concrete pad to support my framing so I dug this hole.
  • 8:32 PM MDM - I have taken on a little project and decided to build a 16 x 4 foot shed at the dack of my property. I will upload my step and milestone as I go in hopes that others will not make the same mistakes I am bound to make.
